Jakarta is Chosen as Nominee for IDC Awards 2022

This year, the Jakarta Government has been chosen again to represent Indonesia at the IDC Asia Pacific Smart City Awards, a platform for innovation and transformation by cities, local governments, and suppliers of ICT (Information Communication Technology) in the Asia Pacific region.

During the pandemic, JAKI takes a part in COVID-19 handling in Jakarta

In 2021, Jakarta won the Best in Future of Digital Innovation through Jakarta Kini (JAKI) super app. In this competition, there were two nominations from Jakarta, namely in the Pandemic Management category (JAKI) and Public Safety-Next Generation Emergency Services (Flood Control System).

In the first category, the JAKI application competed with other applications from Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

"During the pandemic, JAKI takes part in COVID-19 handling in Jakarta through Jakarta Tanggap COVID-19 feature which includes vaccination registration, bed availability, COVID-19 spread, and control zone map. In addition, there is also a JakLapor feature to report city problems and PPKM (Public Activity Restrictions) violations, as well as a JakWarta feature to access general information about COVID-19 in Jakarta. We are also collaborating with PeduliLindungi on the Safe Entrance feature to make it easier for residents to do activities in public spaces," said Yudhistira Nugraha, Head of Jakarta Smart City BLUD regarding the JAKI application as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Wednesday (3/30).

"JAKI features have helped Jakarta residents during the pandemic by only using one application. JAKI will continue to develop innovations and leading digital services to help residents to solve problems and meet their needs while in Jakarta,"

The second nomination was Flood Control System in the Public Safety category. This system is an initiative to distribute and find out information about flooding in Jakarta.

Currently, the Flood Control System was at the initiation stage and would enter the refinement stage in 2023. Jakarta Government had developed this system by utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The system aimed to help minimize flooding in Jakarta and overcome floods in an integrated and real-time manner.

The Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also stated that the election of innovation from Jakarta to compete again at the international level was not only the result of the Jakarta Regional Apparatus Organization's hard work but also the result of collaboration with support from the Jakarta people.

"Of course, apart from our hope to bring home awards at IDC Awards 2022, we also hope the innovations that have been produced to provide great benefits for residents of Jakarta," he said.

Therefore, let's give support to Jakarta thus it can win the IDC Smart City Awards 2022 and continue to develop services for the community.
